Edwins Garden Centre is a popular, family-run garden centre located in Clandon Park just outside of Guildford. It offers a variety of plants and garden essentials, such as compost and paving stones. The centre itself is well-kept and tidy, with helpful staff on hand to offer advice when needed. The garden centre has a café serving hot drinks, cakes and lunch options.
Elm Nursery
Elm Nursery makes for a great day out with the family. As the name suggests, it features a well-stocked plant nursery with good quality British-grown plants. These range from hanging baskets to fruit trees and bedding stock, and the nursery also sells plant food and compost.
As well as this, the site has a children’s farm, farm shop, and café. The farm includes alpacas, goats, Shetland ponies and more, and food is available to feed the guinea pigs and rabbits. The farm shop sells a range of wares and gifts, such as local hone, fresh free range eggs, and homemade jams and chutneys.

Loseley House
Loseley House is probably most famous for its Walled Garden which covers 2.5 acres and is divided into ‘rooms’ each with its own unique planting scheme and personality.
There’s the Rose Garden with over one thousand bushes, the Flower Garden with its maze of pathways and hidden corners and the White Garden that contrasts spectacular, showy, blooms with lush yet subtle silver and grey foliage.
Then there is the extensive Herb Garden, the Organic Vegetable Garden with its unusual varieties and, just outside the walls, the wildflower meadow – a haven of calm and tranquillity.
Our three favourite local lunch spots are The March Hare in Guildford, The Grantley Arms in Wonersh and The Bricklayers Arms in Shamley Green.
