Haslemere Garden Centre

Haslemere Garden Centre is located between Haslemere and Godalming. It’s a popular local garden centre, that specialises in garden plants and trees, as well as luxury garden furniture and a range of tools and hardware to support all sorts of garden projects.

The centre has a team of garden plant experts who can advise on the range of plants, herbs, fruit trees, succulents and more that they have on offer. The centre prides itself on high-quality plants that have been carefully selected from growers and nurseries, so you’re sure to find a great selection.

Avalon Garden Centre

Avalon Garden Centre is located just north of Haslemere on Tilford Road. It features a wide range of plants, including flowers and vegetables, plus gardening tools a Pick Your Own Blueberries section in the summer. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful. There’s also a farm shop and gift shop with items such as greetings cards.

Ramster Gardens

Ramster Hall and Gardens offer a huge amount of history as well as beauty. The oldest part of the house dates back to the 17^th century and the garden as it is today was first curated by Sir Harry Waechter in the early 1900s. in 1927, the garden was first open for the National Gardens Scheme, and is one of the few original gardens that is still open.

The garden is known for its rare trees and array of beautiful blossoming shrubs and flora. The woodland garden spans 25 acres, and notably includes rhododendrons and azaleas that flourish in spring time.

Tickets are required to access the gardens, at a cost of £9 for adults and £3 for children aged 5-16. Well behaved dogs on a short lead are allowed in both the gardens and the Tea House.

Petworth House and Park

Petworth is a beautiful country house and estate, now owned by the National Trust.  The gardens were famously redesigned by Lancelot ‘Capability’ Brown from the 1750s to the early 1760s. The garden gained further notoriety through the paintings of JMW Turner in the early 1800s, some of which are displayed in the extensive art collection shown within the house.

The 700-acre deer park includes woodland and two lakes, plus gorgeous views of the South Downs. The Pleasure Garden features serpentine paths to explore, with formal manicured plant beds, Ionic Rotunda and Doric Temple
